Summary

Now , I feel like he ’s at an age where not only does he realize that she left because of her own volition , but it ’s now time for him to kind of wrestle with that question of why she leave behind .
Devin Kelley : I ’m always on the side of my own case , so I wanted to absolve Shannon . To give the interview this little nugget that maybe multitude had n’t seen before just made me feel a bit vindicated .
Tim Minear : Sometimes we experience abandoned when multitude that we love die . So I think he feel double abandoned , and I reckon he ’s conflating those two things . He ’s still dealing with his mother ’s decease , but now he ’s catch to an age where he ’s understanding the deprivation that he has suffered .
Why Shannon’s Return To 9-1-1 Is An Important Surprise
Shannon ’s last appearance in the series was during a flashback in season 3 , as Eddie was still grieving over her death . However , by having her show up again in season 7,it allows for a much deep exploration of Christopher ’s grief , specially after losing his female parent at such a young age . It also propose a chance for him and his father to truly move onward following such a major passing after so many years .
