Summary

Noomi Rapace : I mean , he ’s a legend , icon . Thank you , first , for that interaction . Peter Harness sent it to me , he sent a screenshot and I thought I record it wrong first . I was like , " Wait , what ? Stephen King ? Like the Stephen King ? " [ Laughs ] So , that was a big moment , and I ’m very curious to see and hear what he thinks now when it ’s all out . I know it does for me , I ’m sure it ’s going to for him ! So , dive mightily in to the story , I love how this show has explored the multiverse , as much as it does these very human persona . I spoke with Peter the other Clarence Day , and he was talking about how , even in the pilot , there were teaser of the multiverse , just in Jo and Alice ’s conversation aboard the ISS . What has it been like for you navigating Jo as she jumps between these very different realities , while also administer with her own crime syndicate drama ?

Noomi Rapace : I had to , as an actress , be highly cognisant of what realness I was in , and what I know , and what Jo have intercourse , but what Jo does n’t know . So , while I was in the scenes and doing the scenes , she ’s supposed to not know , but we had to act and approach it with a simplicity to not complicate it . I was talking to Peter a draw to elucidate , and sometimes I was n’t certain , because I was like , " Wait , what ? So I ’m Jo A now , in Jo B ’s body .
And the clothes in this house is Jo B , so Jo A has never worn this before , so maybe she would feel uncomfortable in this sweater . And the cups are usually here , so I would go in that direction , because in my kitchen , in Jo A ’s kitchen , everything would be to the unexpended side . " So it ’s these things that in every scene , in my head , I was like , " Okay , so in her menage , what would it be , and where would that be ? " And then to keep it sweet all the time , the difference is [ there ] . But it is complex . [ Chuckles ]
It is , and just trying to follow those layer right there , I can only imagine , as a performer , trying to retain them all , but you do it so well . In talking about the differences between the two Jos , what did you and Peter encounter was perchance the large deviation between the two ?

Noomi Rapace : Jo A is suspect , a little number more easygoing , less hard-and-fast , more magic , a bit more pollyannaish . And also , her kinship with Alice is more excited . She does n’t really take things as serious , I would say . Jo B is very life history - drive , very strict , very , very hardworking , very disciplined . She decide to do something , she ’ll do it . She ’s not as warm and funny , not as gift , and probably a bit stricter with Alice , as well . And she ’s not firm , as you know . [ Laughs ]
She ’s doing her own affair , she ’s cheat on her hubby , she ’s design to go off on some adventure to work somewhere else in California . I would say that Jo A is closer to my centre just from that , but Jo B is highly interesting , and I would have a go at it to explore more of her . She ’s more ruthless , I would say , in her way of life . She fights really hard for what she want , so I ’m not sure how far she would go .
There are a lot of really interesting parallels between her and Bud / Henry , and I would love to see them get to interact more in the time to come .
Noomi Rapace : Yeah ! [ Chuckles ]
Rapace Hasn’t Heard Any Season 2 Updates (But Is Ready To Dive Back In)
I ’ve talk with Peter about it , I ’ve talked with Will about it . What are your thoughts on a season 2 for this show ? Have you heard any exciting update from Apple on that front yet ?
Noomi Rapace : No , I have n’t . I would love to revisit and bestow her back to life again . I think there ’s way more to do , and also this baby that is growing inside of her that is a infant of two reality , sort of a space baby , and what kind of personality would that be ? And then you have Jo B being up there in the ISS half dead , but also maybe looking down at Jo A living her spirit . That might stir up some emotions , so there ’s a draw there to dig into if it come to that .
When I find out where Jo B was , I was like , " Oh , there ’s a whole fib here still to be told . " Who would you like to interact with more heading into season 2 ? You patently have a set of fourth dimension with Alice in this time of year , you have a fair amount of time with Magnus , but is there anybody who perhaps you did n’t get to spend a sight of time with in season 1 you ’d care to see more of ?
Noomi Rapace : Will and Jonathan , definitely . I would bonk to meet Bud , I ’d love to meet Henry more . I believe he ’s doing such a superb job , he ’s just unbelievable . And this petty eldritch infant , whatever that is ! [ Laughs ]

In talking about Alice , what was it like for you get a rapport with the Coleman sisters ? You all have such a great dynamic on screen , whether it be the frayed family or whether it be the loving and caring female parent / daughter relationship .
Noomi Rapace : They ’re just amazing . Both of them , I love work with them . They ’re so funny , they ’re really cagy . They ’re like young woman , they ’re not kids . We really approached it and work as a squad , they were my partner in crime who really — it was rummy , because I ’m very driven , I always come really well - prepared . I come to go down , it ’s like , " Okay , what are we waiting for ? Okay , da da da . Are we quick to go ? " And then one day , I came to set and I saw Davina was like , " Okay , guys , what are we waiting for ? Are we ready to go ? " And I was like , " She ’s like a miniskirt - me , " and it made me so gallant . [ Laughs ] So , yeah , they ’re really awesome .

Noomi Rapace : I think you always have to make it yours . Just be a bite impolite , do n’t depend back too much . Do n’t look at the old single , you cognize ? [ Chuckles ] Make it yours . I intend it ’s good to be a bit awless . Even when you do version , you always have to be respectfully awless . Just take it , make it yours , and give birth to it , and have fun .
