The Joker then reveals why he ’s so interested in Zur - En - Arrh : theJoker has never cared about Bruce Wayne , only Batman , and Zur is Batman without the Bruce Wayne personality .
Even though Zur - En - Arrh viciously broke the Joker ’s back , the Joker seemingly ca n’t wait to get back into legal action and fight Zur , and he makes all of this copiously absolved to Bruce . The Joker Has Been Fighting Batman for Decades — Not Bruce Wayne
TheJoker has been fighting with Batmanfor almost as long as Batman has been fighting crime . TheJoker does n’t care about Bruce Waynefor many reason , big being that the Joker is n’t prompt by power or money , so place Bruce Wayne would have no benefit . The Joker has also mentioned several time in the past that he does n’t want to vote down Batman , so there ’s no reasonableness to snipe him as Bruce . In addition , when he lashes out at Batman ’s allies , like inThe Killing Jokeby Alan Moore and Brian Bolland , he often does it by accident , almost accidentally . The Joker is a man without a secret identity , which is another reason why he ’s obsessed with a Batman without one .
Zur-En-Arrh Is the True Batman the Joker Has Been Wanting
Batman has been the Joker ’s compulsion for decades , and he ’s try his estimable to dismiss the Bruce Wayne aspect . But now that there ’s a version of Batman that exists without Bruce Wayne — the cruel Zur - En - Arrh — the Joker can indulge his obsession with the perfect new playfellow . While other villain have actively sought out Batman ’s identity to use against him , theJokerhas always tried to avoid it , and now , he finally has aBatmanwho does n’t have a hush-hush identity to get in the way of their game .
