Summary
My Hero Academiahas no shortage of tragical characters , both hero and villain alike . A late turn of events , however , is putting a new character at the top of the list of most tragic figures : Nana Shimura .
Nana Shimura was already a pretty tragic persona ; as a pro zep and inheritor of One for All , she dedicated her life story to fighting against All for One ’s evil , even giving up her family to keep them safe from his vengeance . Of course , by abandoning her family , even if for a good reason , she put her Logos Kotaro on a sinister course , hate wedge and hero sandwich society , giving him a burning rage on the inside – a rage he would one day take out on his own Logos , Tenko Shimura .
This lead ultimately to the cosmos of Tomura Shigaraki , the deadly villain who now stand up against Deku and One for All .
Nana Shimura Has Achieved New Levels of Tragedy
Now , in chapter 417 , Nana Shimura fall upon she is the only one of the vestiges to have been rejected by Shigaraki during the attack , leaving her alone with Deku as he explore Shigaraki ’s memory of that fatal day when his Quirk first manifested . This is when Nana is coerce to see the import of her decision , and the scurrilous figure her own Logos became in her absence . As Deku and Nana witness a memory of Kotaro beat Tenko , Deku steps in to save the son , while Nana grab her son ’s hand and gives him a hug , beg him to stop .
Nana Shimura knew , in some sense , what had happened after she left , but seeing it pass off is an wholly different story . She ’s now heartbreakingly aware of just what the results of her forfeit were . Worse still , Nana giving up her family to keep them good fromAll for One finally did n’t even work out , and she ( manifestly ) was n’t able-bodied to defeat him , even at the monetary value of her own life story . While Shigaraki ’s story is enough tragic on its own , the story of sacrifice which Nana experience to prevent this very affair from happening stool her the most tragical of all .
However , Nana ’s sacrifice was n’t altogether in self-conceited . Even in this duskiness , she still manage to find All Might and pass One for All to him , show in an era of ataraxis the likes of which torpedo society had never before seen . Deku , too , is her bequest , as her mentorship of All Might is what lead him to choose Midoriya as his successor in the first place – he was reminded of himself and Nana Shimura . It ’s honest to say that All Might ’s legacy is built atop Nana ’s sacrifice , and Deku would n’t be digest here today without her specialty of will .
While fans may be let down thatDeku only has Float left , as far as the story is bear on , it make a circumstances of sense to have Nana Shimura , who is so closely tied to the villain Shigaraki , as the last vestige allow endure beside him . Entering Shigaraki ’s store and witness the pain in the neck her grandson drop dead through will be difficult , but Nana is strong enough to treat it . That alone , though , does n’t change the fact that Nana Shimura isMy Hero Academia ’s most tragic character .
